the artwork for phish's first studio album in five years, joy, has been posted on phish.com. the much anticipated album was produced by steve lillywhite and has a release date of september 8th.

dont call it a comeback
or actually you can. they were gone for a while. just sounded like a snappy title.
saw the phish sunday in fenway and last night at jones beach. i was pretty amazed and fully satiated from both shows. can't wait to go again in august. they came with the hits, and balanced the tight with the loose in a phenomenal way. maybe seemed slightly tense, but i think they were just focused on not blowing it, which i'd say they were most successful at, as evidenced by a flawless YEM on sunday and the wealth of intricate goodies last night (fully loaded mike's jam, harry hood, foam). there's no denying that they are more than a hippie jam band. they are a hyper-talented college band that made it and can fill the nation's largest venues by singing songs where the only lyrics might be "david bowie / ub40". that's kind of amazing. and they still put on incredibly enjoyable shows.

phish on twitter
to Phish-head-Twitter-heads: the past three nights i have been pleasantly surprised by the contents of my sms inbox, tweeted from Hampton with love. follow @phish on Twitter and turn your device updates "on" to get live phish setlist updates via SMS. the frequency of tweets gives you an inkling of which songs they're vibing harrrrd. what a brilliant use of Twitter.
as for who the twitter-phairy is, i'm willing to bet it's one of gordo's web 2.0 buddies...seems like he's the one hanging with the [web] fast crowd these days.

phish reunited at brad sand's wedding
phish reunited saturday night at brad sand's NY wedding. trey, mike, fishman, and page played "Suzy Greenberg," "Julius" and "Waste" for the wedding guests a mere 1,483 days after coventry. later stewart copepland (police) rocked out with the wedding band on "can't stand losting you" and the meters' "fire on the bayou". my brother always said he'd have a phish coverband come out "the moment grandma and grandpa leave" and play until the early morning. footage of the reunion below. sounds like a grand ole' time!
