Is it some unspoken rule on the indie scene that it's ok to license your song for a commercial, but a deadly sin to sign a deal with a major label?
Here are some commercials I've seen over the past couple months.
Noah & the Whale- "5 Years Time"
Saturn
Fujiya & Miyagi- "Collarbone"
Miller Lite
Justice- "Genesis"
Cadillac
Cadillac Escalade Advert featuring Justice! from Aske Pedersen on Vimeo.
Should probably check out McDonald's new one too, featuring "A Minha Menina" by Os Mutantes. Not "indie" per se, but still much in the same vain.

This Shit Ain't Indie

fujiya & miyagi
Fujiya & Miyagi are a trio out of Brighton. Their 2006 release, Transparent Things rose high on my end-of-year charts, while giving a nod to a Tostado hero, the Vlad man.
Their music is a little wonky and they often bite better known bands like Air and Underworld-- and a slew of other krautrockers-- but it's fun. Plus, they make the best videos on the block (ok, maaaybe tied with So-Me) since Peter Gabes.
Recently they teamed up with Bomb the Bass on a new track called Butterfingers. Enjoy the video and some F & M classics from years past.
