Red.

The Red ONE camera (pictured above) captures footage at a blistering 120 frames per second, creating those stunning images you see in the movies. It's the latest project from Oakley founder Jim Jannard, a photo and video buff with an eye for innovation and a lotta bills. The Red ONE is professional grade (Soderbergh, Peter Jackson, Doug Liman use it) and retails for $17,500 -- cost prohib. The good news, for all you aspiring auteurs, is that a $3000 version, the Red Scarlet, will drop next year.

Which way to Tatooine?

Cedric Delsaux has created a series of photos featuring Star Wars characters in contemporary urban environments. The star guys are actually toys that have been superimposed onto photos of Paris' grittier barrios. I'm more than a bit disappointed there are no pics of Ewoks (holding hands, crossing street) or Chewie (fine dining, he'll have the duck a l'orange) , but still, much dap, Ced. Be sure to check out his other stuff as well - the landscapes were pretty stunning.

Surfwise

SURFWISE (2007)

The inspiring and tumultuous story of 85-year old Jewish surfer, health advocate and sex guru, Stanford trained Dr. Dorian "Doc" Paskowitz, his wife Juliette, and their nine children who were all home-schooled and raised in a small camper on the beach, where they surfed and had to adhere to the strict diet and lifestyle of animals in the wild.  (produced by Graydon Carter, Editor In Chief of Vanity Fair) 

The Paskowitz kids were raised intentionally poor, prohibited from attending school, and forced to bear witness to their parents’ healthy sexual activities night after night. And yet some might argue that he leaves the film unscathed. 

In other words, this is no Point Break.
