december 2011 will bring the release of a new The Muppets movie. the troupe behind the movie includes nicholas stoller (writer, Forgetting Sarah Marshall), jason segel (whose puppet performance in Forgetting Sarah Marshall i'd call breakthrough), and james bobin (director, Flight of the Conchords). the film is rumored to have myriad celebrity cameos, and loads of good ole' fashion muppetry (see scanned entertainment weekly spread below). loving the stuff coming off the (newly rehabbed?) sesame street.

When the first Muppet Movie came out it was beyond exciting. It's not like these days where kids have several new movies a year to look forward to. Back then it was a big deal to have a kids movie come out. Anyone have a subscription to the the Muppet Magazine?
P.S. I walked 5 miles to school, uphill both ways.
