andy warhol's children's book illustrations

everyone knows that andy warhol started out his career illustrating advertisements and window displays, but few know that he worked as a children's book illustrator. here are some of warhol's less-famous illustrations from "the little red hen" (1958) and "the magic porridge pot" (1958). while these illustrations are cute, i still find his early commercial illustrations and later works to be much more charming and thought provoking. also, does anyone else find it ironic that warhol, famously egomaniacal, illustrated "the little red hen"?
