—Jean-Claude Van Damme describing why he turned down a leading role in Sylvester Stallone's upcoming film, The Expendables, for artistic reasons. It's nice to see he's maintained his artistic integrity through his 5 marriages, serious coke problem, and brief stint with homelessness. He clearly hasn't forgotten about the Oscar-worthy roles that defined him in the late 80s: Frank Dux (Bloodsport), Lyon Gaultier (Lionheart) and Kurt Sloane (Kickboxer), to name a few. Ironically, Dolph Lundgren, who played JC's nemesis in Universal Soldier, ultimately accepted the part in Sly's upcoming film.
