Too Stoked for the Strokes

Where does a guitarist go when his band has become too cool for music? Obviously it depends, but it seems that Albert Hammond Jr., rhythm guitarist for the Strokes, has chosen to take matters into his own hands. After receiving a warm critical response to his 2006 album Yours to Keep, Hammond, ever the troubadour, has cut a new one, ¿Cómo Te Llama?, scheduled for release in July. Here's the album art.

While checking out some of the tunes on Hammond's MySpace, I came across Joaquin Phoenix's music video for "In Transit," one of the singles off of Yours to Keep. Great tune, great vid--The grainy 8 mm(?) film stock gives this love story such a delightful lighthearted feeling...Doesn't it?
