art comparison: the absinthe drinker v. drug store, detroit

brain exercise:
what are some similarities between Degas' Absinthe Drinker (1876) and Robert Frank's Drug Store, Detroit (1955):

Dr. Lizzard says: Degas' painting of absinthe drinkers depicts a world that we cannot enter visually and, therefore, can never fully comprehend. He isolates us from the scene by placing a newspaper blocking our entry into it. Frank presents us with a public space but leaves us as observers (cake case).
