in the spirit of smithson's spiral jetty...jim denevan makes beautifully fleeting drawings in the sand at low tide using nothing but a wave tossed stick he finds at each beach. freehand, no measuring aids. see more of his work here. the top two photographs look like the beaches in northern spain where my aunt lives.
