Tom Wolfe's new york as depicted in his 1987 novel "Bonfire of the Vanities" doesn't seem much different than today's new york. here's some video incentive to read "Bonfire of the Vanities" if you haven't picked it up yet. Tom Wolfe rips into New York pretty hard toward the end of the clip, but does raise some valid points. if there is anything all New Yorkers share it's certainly ambition.
