Guilty Yacht by Jeff Koons
Art superstar Jeff Koons has landed another hit, and designed his first yacht. The"Guilty", owned by art collector Dakis Joannou, features an extravagant artistic take by the US artist on the exterior.
Designed by renowned architect Norman Foster, built by prize-winning boat-maker Rodriquez Cantieri Navali in Italy and exclusive to YachtPlus (a fractional ownership program), the 40 Signature Series is both an unparalleled vessel and comes with a cost well below ownership. The benefits of the design and the program are many — from eliminating the hassle of maintainance and management (YachtPlus employs a staff of six) to a layout that offers 30% more indoor and outdoor space than any other yacht, it's a smart approach to luxury.
The impressive four-tiered design stems from Norman Foster's consideration of "such issues as quality and quantity of space, outdoor terraces, light and views" and allows for both the staff acomodations as well as room for 10 guests. Features like forward-looking views from all four decks, two balconies in the master suite and spacious rooms and saloons that take into account the needs of children and families offer far more appeal than the more sleek-looking counterparts out there.
Not that the overall profile of the 132-foot yacht is anything to complain about. The grand staircase uniting the four levels offers a stunning design element, as do the floor-to-ceiling windows which lend an unusual appearance for a boat.
