Houston Fence

the pretty miz intersection of Broadway/Houston got a little less miz. artists Carolina Cisneros, Carlos J. Gómez de Llarena, Mateo Pintó created the "Houston Fence", a two sided chain-link fence decorated with put-in cups. the designs on the fence are inspired by QR code barcodes. i first noticed this fence a couple of weeks ago. i was walking with some friends when i noticed that people in orange suits working on the designs. the pixel-like patterns on the fence meant to be read in from different perspectives; out the window of a speeding taxi, walking, from a bike etc. the fence has QR codes that (if you have a QR reading cell phone) link you to blogs, websites, and other people....so its interactive, too.

fence was erected for safety during the Houston corridor reconstruction project. read more about the Houston Fence at the project's blog.
