comfort is the precursor to death

a house in East Hampton, NY by architects Arakawa and Madeline Gins. no flat floors anywhere in the house, so you have to literally crawl, climb, or maneuver your way around it. the architects claim it possesses tremendous healing powers and is the remedy for not your typical long island therapy.

"Comfort, the thinking goes, is a precursor to death; the house is meant to lead its users into a perpetually “tentative” relationship with their surroundings, and thereby keep them young."
