Tar Magazine
a new biannual contemporary art and fashion magazine called Tar looks rad. unlike other publications, Tar treats each issue as if it were an art project (ie, Tar isn't worried about cash$$). Julian Schnabel shot Benicio del Toro for the inaugural issue. Also included in the issue are works by Juergen Teller and Ryan McGinley (and much more). Flip through the issue here.
Evanly Schindler, founder of Blackbook and Tar, explains the connotations behind the word "tar":
"An anagram of art, sticky stuff holding together roads and roofs, foundation, Basquiat tar paintings."
read an interview with Evanly Schindler at WeAreTheMarket.

Ryan McGinley for Sigur Rós
Ryan McGinley directed a music video for Icelandic band Sigur Rós. The video looks like an extension of his photographs featuring naked hipsters frolicking the forest.
I love the shots of the people diving off the cliffs and falling into the water.
PS
my screen saver has been a series of McGinley photographs for a while now. i highly recommend making iphoto albums of your favorite artists so that you can use them for screen savers.
