MLers converged yesterday for breakfast, lunch, and dinner at Wimbledon. If you missed the marathon match, be sure to catch the replays on ESPN Classic this week. Johnny Mac called it "the best match" he'd ever seen, and I'd have to agree.
I've seen some compelling tennis matches over the years - Connors' fistpump-fest, Sampras' puke-fest spring to mind - but in terms of quality of play, nothing has ever come close to yesterday's final. Both players were incredibly poised and sharp and gamely. It was some tight tennis.
The ATP's upcoming months are gonna be spicy - with the Olympics and the American summer leading up to the US Open. Get your tickets now, the next Rog / Rafa rumble should be raucus.
